What’s Good About This?

No one is immune to chaos, negativity and bad situations but the good news is we don’t have to let it take control. I made a quick video on how I take control of these negative situations.

Whether we know it or not a continued pattern of allowing negativity to control us leads to a pattern of failure. I’m not perfect and I’d be lying if I told you sometime it takes me awhile to realize I’m allowing the negativity to control me. It’s never too late to stop yourself and ask the question, while it’s better to always to remain in control our human sin nature prevents us from doing so all the time. This is a skill I’m still working on perfecting but I’m already seeing huge improvements with the way I handle situations.

People have different ways of getting themselves back on track. What do you do when these things happen in your life?

Maybe you never thought about taking control back before today, do you think the technique I am using can help you?

  1. I totally agree and believe things happen for a reason. Two life changing events in my life.

My brother was suppose to be on the flight that crashed in the field on 9/11 but he missed the flight.

Again my brother was traveling to AK to take our sister off of life support because the doctors said she was brain dead. Something was wrong with the plane and he had to lay over for 12 hours. We had told the doctors not to do it until he arrived… Due to the delay in his plane she was responding and waking up when go arrived at the hospital. She recovered and lived for about 8 more years and was even well enough to live on her own part of that time.

I totally believe God has a plan and it may not look like it sometimes and it may not always be just what we thought we wanted. But he knows best.

    Hey Justin,

Your recommendations on how to turn a negative situation into a positive one by placing it into a neutral zone, was SPOT ON man!

I think I was using the same approach when I was in a bad situation.

Although it really is hard to dominate because sometimes even when we are totally convinced of a good outcome out of a bad situation, others can bring us back to the negative state again.

What I do is exactly what you recommend but I first try to calm myself down and separate myself from others.

Then when I feel I finally got it, only then I start talking to others because I already have the positive mindset loaded in my brain.

However I have found that when you’re dealing with very stubborn people, the best thing to do is to get out of the discussion.

I guess it all depends on who is involved and what the situation is.

Thanks for recording that video man, I’m definitely going to remember this when I get into a bad situation.

Take care and keep up the good work!

  4. Thank you for this post!
I hope this is not too personal, but the facts of my circumstances will demonstrate the power of your suggestions.
Last week, I was laid off after 6+ years of service at my $5K+ per month sales job that allowed me to work from home. My home happens to be in a semi-remote area of the Sierra Nevada Foothills and I am about 100K upside down in our home. The closest jobs for my line of work are about a 3.5 hr drive from my home. Trying to figure out how to house and feed my family of five is down right terrifying.
As you can imagine, these circumstances are have created nothing but chaos and a bad mood.

    Enough of the sob story…lol.

Even when you know God is in control, it can still be difficult to focus clearly on the truth.
You have given me a great tool to help my family and I fight the chaos and negativity of our circumstances. We will now start asking, “what is good about this?” ….Thank you.
